Tilly's Quest is a pixel-art role-playing game for iPhone and iPad that teaches money concepts through battles, bosses, and minigames.

Playing The Game

How do I play?

Walk Tilly around the world with the on-screen d-pad. Bumping a bill monster starts a turn-based battle: pick a move like Plan Paycheck or Safe-to-Spend Shield, then the foe takes its turn. Winning earns coins and experience, and leveling up lets you pick a new ability upgrade.

What are the quizzes?

Boss fights include short multiple-choice money questions — budgeting, saving, and (with the expansion) investing. Correct answers help you in battle. They're learning-through-play, not financial advice.

Is there a way to make battles easier or faster?

Yes. Open the pause menu during play: Auto-Battle lets regular fights play themselves (bosses stay manual), and Turbo Mode runs battles at double speed.

What is the Daily Gauntlet?

A once-a-day challenge run that resets at midnight UTC, with optional Game Center leaderboards for daily score and best streak.

Saves & Progress

How do saves work?

There are three save slots, chosen when the game starts. Progress saves automatically as you play. Deleting a slot from the slot chooser permanently clears that adventure.

Does my progress transfer to a new device?

If your device is signed into iCloud, save slots and best-score records back up to your own iCloud account and restore onto a new device automatically. Without iCloud, progress stays on the device.

What is New Game+?

After finishing the story you can restart with New Game+: the world re-rolls and gets tougher, and your legacy carries forward.

The Investing Expansion

What's included?

A one-time optional purchase that adds the Market Beyond realm, the Compounder boss, Tilly outfit skins, the Portfolio Run minigame, and engravable ability Glyphs.

When can I use it?

Outfit skins and Portfolio Run unlock right away. The Market realm itself opens after you beat Uncle Sam, the final boss of the base story.

Why is the game asking a grown-up a question before buying?

That's the parental gate — a quick number-typing check so purchases are made by an adult.

How do I restore a purchase on a new device?

Open the expansion screen and tap Restore Purchases. Purchases are handled by Apple's App Store and tied to the Apple ID that bought them.

Everything Else

Does Tilly's Quest need an account or internet?

No account, ever. The game plays fully offline; iCloud backup, Game Center, and purchases use a connection when available.

What devices are supported?

iPhone and iPad (portrait), iOS 17 or later.
